Bachmann 31-510 ... 159001 "City of Exeter" Network SouthEast
Bachmann class 159 Network SouthEast - click here to view larger picture Bachmann's Class 158/9 models, whilst not part of their super-detailed "Blue Riband" range, are generally regarded as being good quality models.  The bodywork is well detailed, the paintwork very good and the model benefits from a eight wheel drive from a powerful central can motor with flywheels. In the case of the three car 159 this is in the centre car, the motor and drive being largely obscured by the smoked glass windows.  This model appeared in 1998.   A second version also appeared in 1998, 31-512, which was in Network SouthEast livery but with Stagecoach SWT branding.
