East Kent Re-signalling 2011
Work is well under way on the East Kent Resignalling Scheme and a varied selection of signal boxes and semaphore signals will soon be no more. This feature provides supporting material for the feature published in the August 2011 edition of Live Rail (LR241). Pictures and information have been supplied by "GB" unless otherwise credited. |

Canterbury East still has semaphore signals. The signal box dates from about 1911, but has a London, Chatham & Dover Railway frame. It is elevated, so that the signalman has a view over the platform canopies. The box works absolute block to Faversham and to Shepherds Well. photograph taken on 17th January 2010 |
