(above) As with Class 444 and Class 450 Siemens Desiro units window apertures are standard throughout the body sides and lavatory compartments have a sheet metal "plug" fitted to their adjacent window aperture. This is common on modern units from a range of builders.

(below) First class is (thankfully) denoted by a UIC broad yellow stripe at cantrail level and relatively obvious stickers in the windows.
