The first of South West Trains' new high density inner suburban (but working as far as Windsor) 5 car units was delivered to Clapham Yard overnight 8th to 9th December 2016. A Class 92 hauled it through the Channel Tunnel to Dollands Moor late on the 8th and then just before midnight 37884 and 37800 commenced their 6X88 working hauling Siemens Desiro City 707001 to Clapham Yard. It remained in the open in Clapham Yard over the weekend, when unfortunately it became heavily graffiti-ed. By Monday morning it had been moved into the shed, a move which was always intended for static testing. The first few Class 707s will be tested and commissioned on AC, after which their pantographs will be removed to be fitted to later deliveries of Class 700s.
