395015 " Live On "

photograph by Simon Jeffs In November 2014 395014 was named The Victoria Cross in connection with a UK Railtours tour of the same name and it has continued to carry this identity in honour of The Royal British Legion and their Poppy Appeal. However, it is about to lose this in favour of 395015 which has been named "Live On", also in honour of The Royal British Legion and the very important ventures they support. The unit is due to carry this identity for a year. (above) 395014 seen at Eastbourne whilst on UK Railtours "Operation Javelin" tour on 7th November 2015. photograph by Simon Jeffs |

photograph by Andy Robertson (above and below) The "Operation Javelin" Railtour ran from Charing Cross to Hastings, with a side journey to Eastbourne which was available to members of the public on payment of at least a £10 donation to The Royal British Legion. All profits from this railtour will go to the charity. 395014 and 395015 are seen here passing St. Leonards Depot on their way to Eastbourne. This location provided a rare, but not unique opportunity, to see a Southeastern Javelin unit passing a Southern Class 377 unit, in this case 377127. photograph by Andy Robertson |
