Whilst former Waterloo International platform 20 has been in use for some time, with access being gained from "domestic" platform 19, use of the remaining platforms has been difficult as they could only be accessed from the former Eurostar terminal beneath. However, platforms 21 and 22 can now be reached from the main concourse by stairs constructed over the low level former Eurostar concourse. This work has resulted in removal of the Terrance Cuneo statue. The first use of platform 22 was on October 22nd 2014 with the 07:39 from Reading and 18:35 to Reading being the first two passenger workings. Pictured above is 8014 at the country end of a train in platform 22 and 8025 at the country end of a train in platform 20 on the evening October 22nd.

Below are pictured the outer, main concourse, entrance - gated when not required, the stairs over the low level concourse and through the glass curtain wall to the ticket gates (photographs on December 10th by Colin Duff) and a view of the new structures taken from the mezzanine level on the evening of October 22nd (photograph by "GB").
