Kernow/Bachmann 31-235Z (was K2007) ... 1115

The Kernow Model Rail Centre originally commissioned Dapol to produce this model for them and a full size "Thumper" was laser scanned. However, design and production was subsequently switched to Bachmann and benefited from their experience designing and producing the 4Cep and 2EPB models. Being very long in gestation this model has nevertheless been well worth the wait because it is very good indeed. The design of this model has been done to allow early and late versions to be produced and this is amptly illustrated by comparing this (with grilles) and the one below (with louvres).
|
The first version to be produced was unit 1115 portrayed in mid-green period (air horns, yellow 1st class stripe, mesh grille over cooler group and experimental orange "V" on its DMBSO's cab front) and was released in February 2013. |
Kernow/Bachmann 31-236Z (was K2003) ... 1108

Following quickly in early March 2013 was an earlier version, unit 1108 with whistle, plain green cab front and louvres over its cooler group. |

The long awaited BR Blue version was in the second batch. A BR blue & grey version will not be appearing as there is no evidence that 2Hs ran, except in exceptional conditions, in this livery. |

The only other TOPS numbered unit is in de-branded late Network SouthEast livery, and very smart it looks too! |
