Reading Diversions 2015

Clapham Junction.
(below) Every day of this special operation a spare train was kept in Clapham Yard. One 3rd April it was 43027 and 43010. This arrived as 5O01 06:35 London Paddington to Clapham Yard. Not being required it subsequently worked 5V80 22:23 Clapham Yard to London Waterloo and then 1V80 23:57 London Waterloo to Penzance (vice the Night Riviera sleeper, which did not run during the blockade). Arrival and departure arrangements for the spare train were different on the Saturday and again different on the Sunday, however Monday's arrangements were the same as Sunday's.

Protective sheets were placed between the tracks - held down by loose bricks - in platforms 11 (seen here without a train) and 10 (with a class 450) to catch any oil leaks and un-permitted discharge of lavatories whilst in the station
