Class 460 Rundown
From late 2010, some class 460 units were taken off-lease and moved into store. Some units continued running Gatwick Express services as cover for 442s. 3 class 460 units were used to supplement Gatwick services during the Olympics in July 2012.

The first unit to move off territory into store was Emirates branded 460004 on Monday December 13th 2010. Here the 5Y60 Stewarts Lane to Chart Leacon working is captured having just passed through a misty Paddock Wood.

The next day Emirates branded 460006 broke new territory by becoming the first Class 460 unit to use the Tonbridge to Redhill line and it is seen approaching Causeway Foot Crossing near Penshurst station on the 5Y70 Stewarts Lane to Chart Leacon move.

Illustrating the two remaining diagrams in their first week of operation, here 460001 is about to speed through Clapham Junction with the 10:00 from Victoria to Gatwick Airport on a very cold, wet and extremely gloomy Thursday 16th December 2010.

Just under an hour later 460007 makes its way from Clapham Junction to Victoria with the 10:35 from Gatwick Airport.

The latter days of Class 460 operation on the Brighton Main Line saw the remaining units straying from their customary Victoria - Gatwick Airport circuits with a few trips to the seaside! Here 460005 is awaiting departure from Brighton with the 08:13 to Victoria on 13th January 2011.
