Refurbished unit number 4, 442424 at Victoria on 22nd December 2008 about to work the 10.45 service to Gatwick Airport.

Refurbished 442402+442417

Refurbished units 5 and 8 respectively, 442402 and 442417 pass Salfords on 5th January 2009, their first day in service. This is the 08.45 service from Victoria.

A day later, 442417 and 442402 at Horley approaching Gatwick Airport, this time with the 08.30 from Victoria.

Un-refurbished pair still in service

Until there are sufficient refurbished units available 2405 and 2413 remain in front-line service giving the opportunity for a just little longer to experience travel in their "snugs". Here the pair approach Gatwick Airport with the 07.44 service from Brighton to Victoria on 6th January.

Refurbished 442421

Refurbished unit number 3, 442421 with 442424, approaching Gatwick Airport on 6th January 2009 with the 08.45 from Victoria. This shot demonstrates the restriction on capacity of services through the station caused by Gatwick Express services crossing over to platforms 1 & 2 from the fast lines.
