Hastings Diesels Railtours 2015

photograph by Colin Duff The first two railtours run by our friends Hastings Diesels Limited in 2015 have been: (above) "The Green Dragon" on Saturday 18th April, Hastings to Cardiff via Salisbury. 1001, small yellow warning panel cab leading, approaching Battledown Flyover on its way to Cardiff. The full width Mk1s are not a different shade of green (compare with the shot below) but they are reflecting the field of Oil Seed Rape more than the slab-sided Hastings gauge cars. (below) "The Warwickshire Wanderer" on Saturday 4th July, Hastings to Stratford upon Avon, out via the Chiltern Line, return via Oxford. 1001, full yellow cab front leading, approaching Reading on its way home. Evidence of the impending overhead electrification is most visible throughout the station (excepting platforms 4-6 already electrified with conductor rails)! photograph by Colin Duff |
