Class 465 Liveries - Page 5
The last BREL built unit in this livery was 465014. Its last passenger working was the 07:40 Tunbridge Wells to Charing Cross, then 08+47 Charing Cross - Slade Green depot on 27th April 2012. It was hauled to Wolverton, late due to driver problems, the next day. Here 465014 is seen approaching Waterloo East on 15th January 2012 with the 13:53 Hayes - Charing Cross service. photograph by Colin Price |

From here onwards things start getting complicated and confusing. A refurbishment of BREL built units at Wolverton and GEC built units at Doncaster saw stock emerging from works in a range of different liveries, the common factors being the white background with black window cheat line, light blue doors and southeastern branding. The variable factors, being, either singly or in combination, a fading midnight blue lower body strip (replacing the former grey stripe) or not, and white or midnight blue equipment covers. For quite some time nobody, including most Southeastern staff, knew exactly what was going on, however with progressive amendments being made on depot the variation that was to be the end-state finally became apparent. The overall intent being to transition from the livery below left to the livery below right. |

In the interim there have been some colourful combinations, as seen above at London Bridge on 15th March 2012 with three of the possible variations in one train! photograph by Ian Docwra |
